Where ink drops through the top layer of hand woodblock printing over 8 to 12 printings across a month, the aged cotton beneath reveals the Damson Dance pattern - a deep burgundy-plum ground alive with lush teal, sage green and sky blue leaf and foliage forms layering across the entire surface. The damson dances through the composition, weaving between the cool greens and warm peach, coral and amber washes that pool between the leaves. Along the lower edge, large outlined lotus and peony forms in soft pink and coral emerge from the dark ground - more defined, more classical, like a garden floor seen from above. Rich, complex and entirely unrepeatable.

The Damson linen-cotton backing deepens and unifies the plum tones dancing through the front, wrapping the piece in a singular, jewel-toned richness. A 1cm flat flange frames the cover, finished with quiet precision.
