Yamaha’s High Thrust four strokes, are built for jobs that call for more muscle—like pushing a heavy pontoon, adding extra kick to a multi-species boat or maneuvering a sailboat through a crowded marina. Available in 60, 50, an all-new 25 and a 9.9 horsepower, their larger lower units and higher gear ratios produce substantially more thrust than conventional outboards of the same horsepower using standard propellers. In fact, when paired with our Dual Thrust™ propellers, (optional on T60/T50 and standard on our T25 and T9.9) Yamaha High Thrusts produce up to 60 percent more forward thrust and up to 70 percent more thrust in reverse.
 
Yamaha's 996cc 50hp High Thrust four stroke has the extra measure of muscle you need for pushing heavy loads, such a pontoon or house boat. Its SOHC four-cylinder design, composite long-track intake system and proprietary YDC-30 aluminum alloy result in a 50hp four stroke that’s light, compact and generates incredible thrust.

Gauge Compatibility: Optional Command Link® gauges provide real-time outboard performance, boat systems and environmental data at your fingertips. Streamlines displays available in square or round style for single- or multi-engine applications.

Easy Engine Flushing: A Freshwater Flush Device allows you to flush the engine without running it, for added convenience and extended engine life.

Reliability & Durability:Incoming air is routed through an Air Intake Labyrinth System that traps and drains water before it enters the engine's intake for maximum reliability.

Sturdy. Everything came in one piece and the instructions were some of the clearest I've encountered for Amazon furniture. Took about an hour for me to muscle my way through with manual screwdrivers only. I do not recommend a drill unless you go slow, because screw placement will make or break this for you in my opinion. Problems I encountered and how I overcame them: Drawer was rickety, kept catching when trying to pull out. I had to go back and tighten the tiny black screws on the rails. If they are not as flush as you can possibly get them, they will cause the wheels to catch. Once I got them as tight as possible, the drawer pull out was much smoother. Getting the first set of rails on. Space was EXTREMELY tight and frustrating. I ended up using a small screwdriver from my house, pressing it tightly with one hand, and using a pair of pliers to turn the screwdriver. Like a socket wrench type action. This sucked, I can't lie. And it wasn't possible to put them on earlier due to the cam bolts/screws under the rail. But I got through it. Overall, this is worth the money as long as you are willing to take your time and line things up properly and really use some elbow grease to get the screws in straight and flush.
