Overview

This exclusive proprietary black ceramic coating offers the nostalgic look of the past as well as the aggressive look of a modern high-tech build. It also offers a more refined texture and appearance than is possible from painted finishes. With a satin sheen it has a unique look of its own and in addition to providing a more menacing look it also provides all the corrosion resistance of traditional silver ceramic.

The Darkside coating also provides improved thermal resistance as compared to traditional silver ceramic (1700° F vs. 1300° F) making it highly recommended for supercharged or nitrous applications as well as for reduced under-hood temperatures.

Features

  • Formulated to withstand extreme temperatures (stability rating is 1700° F vs 1300º F on silver ceramic) without discoloration and maintains excellent adhesion even after repeated thermal cycling
  • Provides a higher heat tolerance threshold than available from silver ceramics (ours or any of our competitor's) and is therefore recommended for any applications producing elevated exhaust gas temperatures, such as when using superchargers and/or nitro
  • High-efficiency thermal properties limit heat migration through the header assembly, which in turn lowers under-hood temperatures for more performance
  • Increased corrosion protection ensures long service life and maintained appearance of investment
  • Provides unique styling enhancement that is equally pleasing in either a nostalgic retro application or a modern hi-tech build. As this coating is not burnished after its application, the surface appearance is more consistent than that of a silver ceramic
  • Header works with C6 transmissions
  • Power Steering bracket 10961HKR required for vehicles with power steering
  • Works with power brakes, air conditioning, automatic and most manual transmissions

Fitment Notes

  • Works with C6 Transmissions
  • Works with Power Brakes, Air Conditioning, Automatic Transmissions, and Manual Transmissions (excluding 1971-1973 Mustang/Cougar)
  • Does NOT fit Power Steering unless Bracket 10961HKR is installed!
  • Will NOT fit with Dart/Windsor Heads
  • Will NOT fit 1971-73 Mustang / Cougar with manual transmissions
  • Breaking in an engine with ceramic coated headers WILL result in damage to the coating and will VOID all warranties. Hooker recommends using cast iron exhaust manifolds or old headers during your engine break-in period to avoid damaging your coated damage.
  • The use of header wraps can cause the header tubes to crack or rust due to excessive heat and moisture build-up. Hooker does not recommend the use of header wraps as this will void the warranty.
  • Hooker long tube headers do not come with header reducers.

the perfect outdoor solution & very well priced
Color: Lake Blue
This is a beautiful & sturdy umbrella. i had owned a Pier I multi tiered umbrella ($198) and it looked great when I first brought it home, but after one summer, it had faded, the wood swelled to the point where I couldn't get it out of the stand & when the skeleton arm broke, it could NOT be repaired & I paid more than a few carpenters to try. THIS umbrella is a completely different experience from start to finish: well made, lightweight fabric, easy to unpack & popped right into the stand without tiresome effort: no ladders required. It does exactly what it’s supposed to: protects from hot sun & rain, tilts accordingly & I LOVE the deep teal blue that is very soothing in all weather conditions. The price is affordable and I hope it lasts for years. I’m a VERY happy customer!

Easy to use and seems sturdy
Color: Aqua Blue
It’s perfect! Larger than or last one. Easy to set up. Fits in a standard table hole and base. The color is just what the dogs wanted! Everything is always so grey and dull! The turquoise really pops

No customer service for product under warranty
Color: Beige
loved this umbrella for the 4 months we used it. did a lot of research to find an umbrella that would stand up to New England "breezes" -- this one was advertised as wind resistant; bought in June 2025, seemed very sturdy, really nice-looking, used on our patio (installed in the base the recommended base) through the summer; stored indoors for the winter; brought back onto patio a couple weeks ago. On a day with average wind a couple weeks ago, the tilt mechanism broke. Umbrella did not fall over, a gust of wind just forced the tilt mechanism to snap. Spent a lot of time trying to fix it, but it's permanently broken. It's less than a year old so still under warranty, as stated in the materials they sent with the umbrella. Same materials list the email to contact if there are any problems with the product. Have emailed the company, twice now, asking for a refund or replacement. Radio silence. Don't buy this unless you're ok with throwing it away after four or five months of use and being ignored by customer service.
