Steelers linebacker Leo Nobile once nearly drowned—during a game. Placekicker Booth Lusteg routinely warmed up by kicking paper cups instead of footballs. Buff Donelli served as head coach of the Steelers and the Duquesne University gridders—at the same time. Quarterback Cliff Stoudt earned two Super Bowl rings without once stepping onto the field. And Frank Sinatra and Franco Harris sipped wine together—at a Steelers practice.

These and many other unusual stories are featured in When Rooney Sold the Steelers: An Offbeat History of Pittsburgh’s Beloved Team. You’ll read about the Steelers linebacker who went on to fame … as Tarzan; the team’s male cheerleaders, who were terminated not long after a cannon mishap; the only individual to suit up for both the Steelers and the Pirates; and the time owner Art Rooney, a former boxing champion, punched out his head coach.

When Rooney Sold the Steelers (yes, he actually did) covers key moments (and some little-known ones) in franchise history: how the Steagles, a team formed by a wartime merger of the Steelers and the Philadelphia Eagles, finished with a winning record despite dealing with two constantly bickering head coaches; how a spelling lesson inspired Terry Bradshaw to become a Super Bowl hero; how Joe Greene drained 27 16-ounce bottles of Coca-Cola during filming of an iconic television commercial; how a lopsided Steelers victory might have prevented casualties from a plane crash; and how head coach John “Blood” McNally missed a game because, incredibly, he didn’t realize the Steelers were playing that weekend.

When Rooney Sold the Steelers also shines a spotlight on the O.J. Bowl; the Steelers standout who went on to become a Supreme Court justice; a game that featured a mind-numbing total of 31 punts; the birth of the Terrible Towel; the die-hard fan who rooted for the Steelers even after death; and how the Immaculate Reception—a play that altered the trajectory of a franchise—got its name.

Only toothpaste in my household
Flavor Name: 1. Sensitive Mint, Size: 5.25 Ounce (Pack of 1)
Love this toothpaste, no fluoride, great taste, fresh breath. Great value for the price as the tube is quite large. Only downfall if that it doesn't foam well which you will find with any toothpaste not full of nasty chemicals. Only thing my family uses.

Give it a few weeks! It works!
Flavor Name: 1. Sensitive Mint, Size: 4 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I've been brushing with this toothpaste twice a day for about 3 weeks. I can see an improved whitening. My hairdresser, new one I hadn't met before, told me I have perfect teeth. Actually they're not that straight but the color of my teeth makes up for the misalignment of some of them. Flavor of toothpaste is good. Didn't cause any sensitivity for me.

Love this!
Flavor Name: 1. Sensitive Mint, Size: 4 Ounce (Pack of 1)
This toothpaste does not foam but my mouth has never felt cleaner or fresher! The taste is minty fresh and I have noticed a difference in the whiteness of my teeth since I started using it! Very effective and I highly recommend!

Baking soda never works out well
Flavor Name: 1. Sensitive Mint, Size: 4 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I don't know why I decided to chance it but it didn't take long for my teeth to start aching. I realized baking soda might be the cause of my toothache issues when I switched between a few and realized the baking soda ones were accompanied by aching. I think I went with this because it claims to be for sensitivity and I thought the nhap would help whatever the baking soda affected but not the case. If you have tooth ache, consider it might actually be the toothpaste and don't just go looking for "sensitive" labels. This might work in combination with other toothpaste. I.e. not multiple times a day but once a day and a different one for other brushing. I've noticed not being as able to tell when it's been a while since I brushed. This was the main change so it might be effective at cleaning. The tube is metal and hard to press but the paste consistency is less firm than others so it works out. It didn't take much to get the paste out. It gives a light foam. The taste is not sweet. It's tolerable but borders on bad.
