Untuk aplikasi makro, lensa ini memberikan pembesaran maksimum 1:1 seukuran aslinya bersama dengan jarak pemfokusan minimum 1,6', namun panjang fokusnya yang panjang juga ideal untuk potret wajah dan kebutuhan pemotretan jarak menengah lainnya yang dipotong pendek.

Berkenaan dengan desain optiknya, tiga elemen dispersi ultra-rendah digunakan untuk mengontrol penyimpangan warna dan fringing warna dan lapisan Super Spectra telah diterapkan untuk mengurangi flare dan ghosting. Memanfaatkan aset ini adalah sistem fokus mengambang internal yang berfungsi untuk menjaga kualitas gambar di seluruh rentang fokus.
