Die Familie baut hier seit Generationen Trauben an und haben ihren Grund von 7 Hektar, der Fläche zu Gründungszeiten, zu heute ungefähr 140 Hektar expandiert. “Le Pas de l’Aigle” oder “The Eagle’s Pass” ist der Name des höchsten Weinberges der Amadieu Familie in der Appellation Gigondas. Die Bedingungen hier sind ideal zur Herstellung von Premiumweinen dank den kühlenden Bergbrisen und der nord-nordwestlichen Ausrichtung, welche vor der heftigen Sommer Sonne schützt. Das Landstück hat alte Grenache und Syrah Reben, welche hier vor über 50 Jahre angepflanzt wurden und winzige Erträge an sehr konzentrierter Frucht produzieren. Um sicherzustellen, dass die Frucht das Weingut in einwandfreiem Zustand erreicht, wird sie von Hand geerntet bevor sie für einen Monat auf der Haut fermentiert wird, um reichlich dunkle Farbe und intensive Aromen zu extrahieren. Die jungen Weine reifen dann in Eichenfässern für 24 Monate um die verschiedenen Komponenten vollständig zu integrieren und die Tannine weicher zu machen. Das freche Geschmacksprofil und die gut gebaute Struktur ermöglichen es, diesen Wein im Keller für ein bis zwei weitere Jahrzehnte zu lagern, obwohl er auch jetzt zu einem kräftigen Rindseintopf oder gebratenem roten Fleisch genossen werden kann.Shipping Notes

Solid bamboo board set for the price

This bamboo cutting board set has been a nice addition to my kitchen. I like having different sizes available, and I especially appreciate being able to reduce how often I use plastic cutting boards. Mine did have a strong odor at first, but after washing them and letting them air out, that went away. They also seem good for the price

Awesome Boards….BUT the Smell!!!!

I’d love to give these 5 stars, they are heavy, well made, smooth, deep juice grooves, just nice….but the smell! I washed them, then used vinegar on them, set them outside over night, washed them again….its better but still present. I’d love some guidance on this. I’m hoping it goes away in a few days. It’s like a very strong woodsy smell that actually made my whole kitchen smell like these boards!
Edit: Ok, here's what I did. Washed, let dry, coated and scrubbed with apple cider vinegar, set them in a high air flow area for 24 hours (I put mine outside on the patio over night), washed and scrubbed again, let dry, scrubbed with lemons and salt, let dry, washed again. Finally, there is still a slight smell if you push them against your nose but that seems to be fading as well. So, great boards if you want to go stubbornly go through the smell removal process. I don't think it's a chemical smell, I think it's processed bamboo that is shrink wrapped in air tight packaging too soon after manufacturing. Anyway, I'll move this to 4 stars....but lots of work involved here!

Obsessed with these boards!!
